Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET), part of Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has received a Comprehensive Environmental Permit — CER) - a single permit document containing mandatory environmental requirements and standards for enterprises when carrying out production activities in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Law "On Environmental Protection". TAGMET became the first company in the TMK circuit to receive a CER, and became one of the 25 permit holders in Russia.
The CER was issued to TAGMET by the Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Environmental Management in the Rostov Region and the Republic of Kalmykia. The permit will be valid until the end of September 2028. Work on obtaining the CER began in the first quarter of 2020 and included the development and approval of the necessary documentation, an inventory of sources of emissions and waste generation. The company has also developed a program to improve environmental efficiency and calculated the technological indicators of the best available technologies (BAT).
The CERs were introduced by the Government of the Russian Federation, contain mandatory requirements in the field of environmental protection and replace a number of permits that enterprises previously received. Their implementation will ensure state regulation in this area, depending on the degree of environmental impact.
