On January 27, 2020, a solemn event was held dedicated to the launch of phenol and acetone production at Omsk Kauchuk, a part of the Titan Group of companies.
Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Governor of the Omsk region Alexander Burkov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Omsk region Dmitry Ushakov, Minister of industry, communications, digital and scientific and technical development of the Omsk region Andrey Posazhennikov, as well as head of the Titan group of companies Mikhail Sutyaginsky attended the launch ceremony of the new petrochemical production.
The official start of production was given in the "Omsk-Moscow" teleconference mode. In the live broadcast, tons of finished products were received in the company's tank fleet, which will be shipped to Russian consumers in the near future. The company expects to increase supplies abroad and completely replace the import of phenol and acetone.
The project was implemented within the Petrochemical industrial cluster of the Omsk region with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and using a loan from the Industry Development Fund. As part of the project, the "Titan" Group purchased more than 300 units of main and auxiliary technological equipment – columns, heat exchangers, tanks and pumps. During the periods of active work on the site of the plant's workshop, more than 450 people worked, including specialists from three dozen contractors.
