Transneft PJSC and Transneft – Baltika LLC received a patent issued by the Federal service for intellectual property (Rospatent) for invention No. 2704512 "Method for waterproofing of pipeline well". The invention is based on a new method for obtaining waterproof insulation of inspection technological wells of underground pipelines, which includes 4 main stages: 1) the stage of manufacturing a sealed shell made of polymer membrane at production facilities; 2) on-site preparation work stage near the technological well on the line part of the main oil pipeline; 3) stage of installation of the sealed shell on the technological well; 4) finishing works.
The method of waterproofing the well of the pipeline is aimed at improving the operational reliability and durability of the sealing. The polymer membrane for the production of a sealed shell is a rolled polymer waterproofing material based on polyvinyl chloride.
Testing of the new technology took place in the field in the open air at a negative temperature in mid-March 2019. The well of the shut-off valve assembly, subject to flooding and requiring restoration of tightness, was located in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region, on the linear part of the main oil pipeline (MNP) DN 1000. After carrying out all the necessary tests, from April to May 2019 (during the spring flood), repeated monitoring was performed on presence of water inside the well, the results of which proved the practical applicability of the new method of waterproofing of pipeline wells.
The patented method is intended for use at the production facilities of PJSC "Transneft" and is recommended for wide implementation in industrial production.
