JSC "Vyksa Steelworks" (JSC "VMZ"), part of the United Metallurgical Company (JSC "OMK") has developed a bimetal pipe with a diameter of 813 mm for the oil and gas industry.
The technology of manufacturing of this new type of products is being developed at JSC "VMZ" within the framework of the implementation of the road map for "Large Diameter Pipes and clad steel fittings" program of scientific and technical cooperation of JSC "OMK" and PJSC "Gazprom".
Production of clad sheet metal is produced from combined prefab. The outer layer of the 813mm diameter bimetal pipe is made of 28.2 mm thick carbon steel and the inner layer is 4.0 mm thick stainless steel.
Bimetallic pipes of large diameter have not been produced in Russia before.
Earlier, as part of the modernization, JSC "VMZ" has developed an electric welded casing pipe with 426.0 mm diameter and 11.0 mm wall thickness with "Buttress" threaded connection. In addition, the implementation of the JSC "VMZ" investment program for 2018 in scope of construction of a center for finishing of 139.7-426.0 mm diameter casing pipes for oil and gas industry allowed JSC "OMK" to expand the range of equipment for the future requirements of Russian Customers.
