On October 23, 2019, at the Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, a Memorandum was signed on the construction of a pipeline for transportation of petroleum products in the Republic of Congo. The future pipeline will connect the deep-water port of Pointe Noire to the Maloucou terminal and the intermediate terminal at Lutete.
The pipeline will provide petroleum products to the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic. The implementation of the infrastructure project will take approximately three years. Estimated capacity of the pipeline will be 2.1 million tons per year, and the period of its operation-at least 40 years.
